Eastern Orthodoxy in Krakow

The Polish Autocephalous Orthodox Church was established in our country in 1929, and the autocephaly was renewed in 1948. The head of the church is the Metropolitan Archbishop of Warsaw. Krakow belongs to the Łódź-Poznań Diocese and has one parish under the invocation of Assumption of the Virgin Mary, it was established in 1918. There were many Orthodox soldiers in Piłsudski’s Legions.
