Jarocki Jerzy was born in 1929 in Warsaw. He was a famous Polish theater director. He graduated from the National Academy of Theatre Arts (Polish: Akademia Sztuk Teatralnych) in Krakow, and later in 1952-1957 he studied directing in Moscow. After returning from Russia, he began working at the Stanisław Wyspiański Teatr Śląski in Katowice. From 1962, he directed at the Stary Theatre in Krakow, and also collaborated with theaters in other Polish cities and abroad. Examples of performances he staged were “Fizycy” by F. Durrenmatt, “Tango” by S. Mrożek or “My daughter” by T. Różewicz. Jarocki was also a lecturer at the Acting Department of the National Academy of Theatre Arts in Krakow. He died in 2012 in Warsaw and was buried at the Rakowice cemetery in Krakow.
