Krumłowski Konstanty was an actor, journalist and author of many stage works describing the life of the suburbs of Krakow. He was born in Kołomyja in 1872 and died in 1938 in Kraków. One of his most famous works is “Królowa Przedmieścia” (Queen of the Suburbs), in which Krumłowski immortalizes his former beloved Maria Dzierwańska. The woman was once a worker in a cigar factory in Dolne Młyny. She despised Konstanty’s love and married a teacher. “Królowa Przedmieście” received many adaptations and modifications, it was also filmed by Eugeniusz Bodo in 1937.
