Nieciecza

All ponds and slow-flowing waters for example the Rudawa flowing through the Błonia, were named as desserts in accordance with the laws in force in Krakow. It was called so because it flowed very slowly through the marshes and backwaters there. Also a pond behind the city walls at the exit of today’s Św. Mark street was called “piscina Nieciecza”, just like many other ponds and rivers.
