The station was established in February 1927 and since then its most famous broadcast becuase of the Trumpet Call (hejnal in Polish) from the St. Mary’s Tower at 12.00 noon, every day. In 1936, the broadcasting station received a permanent seat at Wróblewski st. in Krakow. After World War II, on January 25th 1945, they broadcast Mazurek Dąbrowskiego through the loudspeaker in Planty Park. In 1945 the radio station got its second seat on Szlak st. no 71, where it is still located today. The most popular broadcasts include “Gromadka Świetlicowa” and “Wieczorki z microphone “. In 1978 the station was awarded the Commander’s Cross with the Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta. Their frequencies are 68.75 and 101.6 FM.
