Rivers in Krakow – Prądnik

You may see the name Prądnik on buses or maps – it is correct, the Krakow‘s districts Prądnik Biały and Prądnik Czerwony owe their names to the small river that flows through it.

Prądnik river has its source in Sułoszowa village, with length of 35 kilometres flows through Ojcow National Park, Zielonki, Prądnik Biały, Olsza and after the Dąbie feeds Vistula.

Prądnik has multiple tributaries like Sudoł, Sudoł Dominikański, Bibiczanka, and Garliczanka (very polish names). In chronicles, there is information that Prądnik has been split into two arms; in older records, we can find words that describe even the third arm! Interesting, isn’t it?

You can see Prądnik on a walk around Krakow city – it could be an adventure to discover the unknown and uncommon parts of City of the Kings.
