Tyniec cemetery

These are very old crypts located under the Benedictine monastery in Tyniec. Some of the golden liturgical vessels that were found there are considered to be produced in the XII century. Another monastery cemetery is located at the feet of the rock on which the church is built. Many interesting tombstones from the XIX and XX centuries can be seen there. There are two big mass graves here, one for Benedictine monks, another one for Napoleonic soldiers, who died in a military field hospital.
