Railway Bridge

The Railway Bridge is located in Kraków on the Vistula River, between the Kraków Główny station and the Kraków Zabłocie train stop.

Initially, in the years 1854-1855, there were two wooden bridges built by the Austrians in this place, which connected Krakow with Bochnia, Tarnow and Dębica. In the years 1863-1864, the structure was replaced with a steel one and a brick and stone viaduct with 5 arches was built. In January 1945, it was blown up (like other bridges in Krakow) by German troops retreating from Krakow. In the same year it was rebuilt by the Soviet army.

Today, the bridge is 212.4 m long, the structure is made of steel and has six spans, each 35.4 m long.
