Koźmian Kajetan was a poet, critic and journalist, politician and opponent of the November Uprising born in Gałęzów in 1771. He wrote many poems, epics and publications of a historiographic nature.
He is famous for such works as:
- “Stefan Czarniecki”
- ‘Żywot Staszica” (“Life of Staszic”)
- “O życiu Tadeusza Kościuszki” (“About the life of Tadeusz Kościuszko”)
- “Pamiętniki” (“Memoirs”)
For some time he lived in Krakow, and in this city the collection of his poems was published for the first time. He died in 1856 in Piotrowice.
