Jasieński Bruno

Bruno Jasieński was a poet, prose writer and playwright. He was born in 1901 in Klimontów, died in 1939 near Vladivostok. During World War I, he lived in Moscow, later he returned to a Polish woman and began studying Polish at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. He wrote in Polish, Russian and French. He was one of the precursors of Polish futurism. He was the author of futuristic manifestos, a representative of the Polish interwar avant-garde and a communist activist. He also lived in Lviv and Paris. In 1937 he was arrested on false accusations and sentenced to 15 years in the camp. He died on the way to exile.
