Korpal Tadeusz

Korpal Tadeusz was a painter and teacher. He was the son of Michał Stefan and younger brother of Aleksander, and he was born in 1889. In his youth he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and at the same time taught drawing at the II Realna School. During World War I, he was active in the press and graphic section of the technical department of the Polish Legions. After the war, he taught drawing to children and teenagers at a school in Wieliczka. During the Nazi occupation, he was arrested and imprisoned in Montelupich and Wiśnicz. After his release, he participated in secret teaching. He died in 1977.

He painted landscapes, wall paintings for churches, designed stained glass windows, and created illustrations for various publishing houses. His paintings are in various museums and private collections. He also took part in numerous exhibitions, was involved in cultural life and organized theater performances. He also wrote novels and theater plays.
