Monument on the Kaim Hill

This monument is located in Krakow‘s district Bieżanów. It has been established to commemorate Russian force refutation, it is placed exactly in the spot, where they met Austro-Hungarian Army during World War I. The memorial of Krakow’s saving was unveiled on its first anniversary – 6th of December 1915. The author of the obelisk is Henryk Nitra.

His date of birth is unknown, but it is confirmed that he died after 1317. Since 1290 he was the hereditary mayor of Krakow. Since 1295 to 1305 he was supporting the Czech occupation of Krakow, but in 1306 he is giving the city in hands of Wladyslaw Łokietek. In
