This is the former seat of the Balicki family of the Topór coat of arms, and then of the Tęczyński family. At the beginning of the 16th century, Balice was taken over by a Kraków merchant – Seyrid Betman, whose daughter married Seweryn Boner – a representative of the richest bourgeois family in contemporary Poland. His son Jan built a wonderful wooden manor here and established a beautiful garden. You were kings, hence the ceremonial entry to Krakow of the Austrian archduchess Anna – the fiancée of King Zygmunt III. In turn, the palace passed into the hands of the Firlej family, and in the 17th century – the Szembek family, who built a brick building here. The last owner of Balice, Prince Hieronim Radziwiłł, rebuilt the palace according to the design of Tadeusz Stryjeński. This magnificent residence is now occupied by the National Research Institute of Animal Production. There are 5 hectares of park around with numerous bushes and trees. Currently, this is the airport for Krakow.
