Outstanding coloratura singer, teacher, born in Wadowice and died in Ciechocinek. Her real name is Jadwiga Schayer. She studied music in Stary Sącz, then the school of nuns in Kraków, then in Vienna and Milan. In 1906 she made her debut with great success in Vienna, in 1909 she changed her name to a more artistic one. She has performed in Italian theaters and made guest appearances in Krakow. From 1934, she joined the Grand Theater in Warsaw, and at the same time performed all over the world. During the Nazi occupation, she ran a secret opera studio. After the war, she moved to Krakow. She was a professor of singing at the State Higher School of Music. In her family home there is a plaque commemorating her, and an annual concert “Ada Sari vocal art days” takes place in Nowy Sącz.
