Teodor Rygier

Sculptor born in Warsaw, died in Rome. He studied at the school of fine arts in Warsaw, then in Dresden, Berlin, Vienna and Paris. He created beautiful figures, eclectic allegorical sculptures, busts and medallions, but the most famous work of his authorship is the Adam Mickiewicz Monument in the Main Square in Krakow, it was exhibited in 1898. In the National Museum of Krakow there is a statue of Copernicus by him, and several sculptures in the building of the University of Lviv.
